In order to overcome remaining inequalities in academia, we need to be aware of the tools that help boost our own career. Networking is one of those tools. Indeed, it is often referred to as the most effective career building tool. Studies show that 70% to 90% of satisfying positions inside and outside of academia are found through proper self-promotion and networking.

Large parts of the research landscape in Germany and other countries are still dominated by men in top positions. This goes hand in hand with a rather masculine communication culture, which some women / people read as females can't always cope with.

As a woman, do I always have to adapt to a male context, or will a middle ground do as well? How do I successfully present myself as a woman in my professional environment in a way that makes me visible? These and other questions will be discussed in this interactive workshop.

Our life is marked by prejudices and unconscious biases that influence our thoughts and actions. We will embark on a journey to become aware of these unconscious biases and develop strategies for better handling them in our daily lives.

This workshop provides an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the topic of bias and to take concrete steps towards change.

Besides the fact that gender equality is clearly a moral imperative, studies suggest that diverse teams create better results, making it a business necessity as well. In order to reach gender equality and diversity in science, awareness needs to be raised in both male and female scientists.

For this purpose, we offer one workshop package, comprising interactive and experienced-based training methods, that is divided into two parts: part one aimed specifically at women in science, part two will be including all genders and getting them to interact with each other.

The employees' need for autonomy, i.e. the desire for "freedom in research and teaching", leads to the fact that the persons to be supervised experience other motivators, as e.g. in the economic context.

Scientific writing and publishing is part of the regular scientific work. It is the goal and task of learning at universities, since scientific debates are predominantly conducted in written form. Academic degrees require the completion of a final thesis in text form. Later in one's career, published articles significantly influence career opportunities and continue to help attract research funding.

Well-structured and well-written texts positively influence the acceptance rate of manuscripts and thus contribute to career development.
